The day-to-day obligations of educators make it difficult to spend time researching new activities that provide variety and interactivity. The World of Cheddar website is designed to provide easy access to games and teaching aids that you can use when teaching and discussing financial literacy. We will share news on game play and how games impact learning financial concepts. Game design and game mechanics (sometimes referred to as “gamification”) has the ability to impact behavior. The World of Cheddar website offers a community platform for us to explore how using games in learning can enhance the process of financial decision making and financial literacy.

The World of Cheddar, LLC. is a social enterprise dedicated to investigating the power of game play and game mechanics (also know as “gamification”) on learning and behavioral change. The current focus is on learning and behavioral change in the area of financial literacy and financial decision-making. The World of Cheddar, LLC. IS NOT a financial services firm and DOES NOT provide financial advice.

Financial decisions that support our goals and values create financial well-being. Learning to connect the importance of individual decisions to their long-range impact is the goal of financial literacy training. While life offers no dress rehearsal, game play and simulations can offer a chance to try out a series of financial decisions and experience their effect. The World of Cheddar mission is: Financial Literacy Through Gamification.
